A drop of water will be absorbed by aniline leather but will stay on top – bead, when dropped on pigmented leather. Treatment results can be very dramatic or less visible depending on the quality and condition of the leather treated.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAPPLICATION\u003cbr\u003eThe Chambers balsam has a very smooth texture and is easy to apply with a household sponge. Let's say you are treating a leather sofa. Apply a thin coat of the balsam and leave for a minimum of ten minutes for the oils to absorb. Using a soft cloth or a small towel, give the sofa a polish. Treating a whole sofa with balsam containing wax is not a five minutes job but is worth it. For smaller leather items, the balsam can be applied with bare hands and polished with a cloth. As with any leather treatment, always test on a small hidden area first for colour fastness. This leather balsam does not contain any solvents and does not remove colour from leather. It cannot restore physically rubbed off colour where the top coating has rubbed off exposing a layer of pigment.
